GAPYEONG WEEKEND HOUSE
Situated at the edge of the Bukhan River in Geumdae-ri, Gapyeong, this house rests like a quiet line drawn across the scenery, seamlessly blending
into nature without disrupting its flow.
The elongated roof gently follows the river’s curve, dissolving the boundary between architecture and landscape. Through the open glass façade, the mountains and water become part of the interior—a living panorama that the home is in constant dialogue with.
Though perched on a rugged cliff, the interior space feels soft and fluid, encouraging a slower experience of time. Rather than being structured by function, the home is shaped around the idea of dwelling—of simply being present.
The floating terrace, the flowing curves of the furniture, and the gentle circulation create a tactile connection between the solid presence of nature and the softness of daily life.
This is not a house that speaks—it listens. To the water, to the wind, to the quiet rustling of trees. And in doing so, it offers a place to remain still, to listen, and to belong.
